Gameloft is giving away 30 free Android games to celebrate its 20th anniversary. There is everything, for various genres and some great classics that influenced your day when the mobile game took off.
“Enjoy retro fun and nostalgia for 30 iconic Gameloft games that have never been available on a smartphone before!” Advertises the developer of this Gameloft Classics package: 20 years, adapted to smartphones in graphics and touch screen controls to facilitate its execution.
Gameloft may have been overshadowed in recent times by high-profile companies that have entered the mobile gaming universe, but the French firm is a prominent name in phone games before they were smart or had touchscreens.
When it comes to old school phone games, most probably think of Nokia’s iconic Snake game, a title that sinks back to the beginning of ‘feature phone’ times. When the industry managed to produce more powerful terminals with color screens, Gameloft was ready to jump into that new world with a large number of titles.
You may not remember or you may not know some of the games in this Gameloft Classics collection, but they were once a great novelty and influenced the industry, such as those programmed under J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) and the first games for screens touch screens that paved the way for some of the Gameloft franchises.
